Changing The Game.
Being a game changer or contributing to it, what does it mean?
We call it New Street Agenda.
Looking at street photography, New Street Agenda redefines not only the name of the game but also the rules for playing it.
Street photography normally is treated from above meaning people’s experiences, likes and knowledge play first violin. And have done so for many years.
It is all a continuation of the same. Nothing new, but sometimes different colours.
New Street Agenda keeps all that, but adds a vision from below.
Meaning: We ask and we try to answer the questions of what are the basics of experiences, likes and knowledge? What are the elements and structures of any moment of visual communication that help shape the forms and contents of any photograph, of any street photograph? The questions we ask are not just a continuation of the same. We change the colour box and not only the colours.
We change the game.
You could, as a starter, look in at The Wordbook.
Is this an easy task?
Not necessarily, but it is not that hard either because what the traditions of street photography are empty of, other disciplines are full of. So we look at that for inspiration, and when inspiration is out of breath we blaze our own trail.
Who wants easy.
We will have luck, because luck has very little to do with it.
