Invitation From Metodo, Italy
Excellence © Knut Skjærven
Out of nowhere this invitation landed in my inbox yesterday. Interesting project that I would love to take part in. So I said, yes thanks. Names have been removed from the email below.
Dear Mr. Skjærven,
My name is (….) , and I am a member of the editorial board of “Metodo. International Studies in Phenomenology and Philosophy”, a recently launched philosophical journal (http://www.metodo-rivista.eu/index.php/metodo
). The journal has been founded by a philosophical association based in Italy, with the aim of promoting the philosophical discussion on central topics in the current scientific, cultural, and social debate.
Together with ( …. ), I wil be editing the next thematic issue of the journal on “Virtuality”. Besides peer reviewed papers we would like to publish some original contributions by representative of leading positions in the philosophical and phenomenological field.
We very much appreciate your work as a photographer and as a blogger and we find very interesting the connection that you make between Photography and Phenomenology. For this reason we want to ask if you could be interested in contributing a small set of photos (3-4) on the subject of Virtuality with comments or explanations. In fact we would be very pleased to host a different kind of contribution to this issue of Metodo, and in particular to make some room for the language of images.
To give you an idea of the direction we wish to take in the next thematic issue, I attach the draft of the call for papers to this email. Submission deadline for invited contributions is June 15, 2014.
Looking forward to your kind reply,
( …. )
Amazing what a few images can do.
Have a good day.
